I love finding new discoveries, especially when they are perfectly suited to the season. Springtime usually sees the reappearance of rosé (let’s be honest, rosé never goes out of season for me though!) and white wines to go with the sunshine and longer days. Even though those are great this time of year, sometimes you just need to switch it up. Since I’m not much of a beer drinker, I’m always on the hunt for great cider… So I’m glad I recently discovered a new cider out of San Francisco called Brooks Dry Cider, created by Brooks Bennett.
Like the name suggests, this is a dry not sweet cider. You know how some ciders are so sweet you can only have one without feeling a little sick from the sweetness? Not this one. It’s super refreshing, light, and goes down easy. Made with 100% apple juice, Brooks is fermented in Napa with Champagne yeast. Smooth with a little bite to it. Big fan!
What’s also cool is the bold packaging. Since it’s “born in California,” the California bear (known here as ‘Brooks the Bear’) can be found skydiving, riding a motorcycle, biking or cruising in a convertible. Hey, bears just wanna have fun, too!
Props to Brooks Bennett and his new California dry (not hard) cider. It’s a great paired with Mexican food, spicy dishes and chilling on the porch in the sunshine. Cheers!
